CNN senior White House Correspondent Pamela Brown is deeply disturbed by the existence of Parler, a free speech alternative to Twitter and Facebook. During a recent segment with Brian Stelter, Brown stated that Parler is “a threat to democracy” because it allows conservatives to speak to one another without censorship – and this is “not good,” Brown insists.
Brown believes that people who use Parler instead of Facebook and Twitter “are in echo chambers and they’re getting fed a diet of lies essentially.” Instead, these people should return to the Big Tech platforms immediately, as well as turn on the television and tune in to CNN in order to escape the echo chambers and discover truth.
Stelter agrees, telling Brown that people who leave Twitter and Facebook are the consequence of “a bunker mentality in right-wing media.” Stelter added that he believes people making their own decisions about which media platforms to use is “ultimately … not good for the country.”
While Parler has been around for several years now – Stelter reported fake news by claiming that it is “new” – it very recently started to take off in droves following numerous instances of Twitter and Facebook de-platforming major conservative pundits and even President Trump himself.
Big Tech has apparently taken a significant hit from this, along with CNN, hence the vitriol from Brown and Stelter. It also says a lot about the types of people who watch CNN that both of these fake news goons would suggest that freedom of media choice is a “threat to democracy.”
Much of the credit for Parler’s success belongs to investor Dan Bongino, who publicly endorsed and helped legitimize the platform as a viable contender against the big guys. And you can be sure, as CNN is already demonstrating, that the big guys will stop at nothing to try to kill Parler before it really takes off.
One would think that the conservative exodus from mainstream social media would make liberals happy, seeing as how they want us all silenced anyway. The truth, however, is that the left also wants to silence us from talking to one another on independent platforms like Parler.
“Even though they’ve basically cheated their way into the White House, the liberal left is still angry that we on the right exist at all,” writes Kira Davis for Red State.
“They’re like spoiled children at Christmas time after they’ve opened the last present only to look at mother and father and ask, ‘Is this it?'”
In other words, it is hardly enough simply to silence conservatives so liberals do not have to hear what they have to say. What needs to happen now, according to Democrats, is the permanent muzzling of conservatives from ever being allowed to express themselves anywhere.
It is tried-and-true fascism, ironically enough, an authoritarian police state model of control that Democrats claim to oppose. In truth, Democrats are the biggest fascists of all as they now seek to shut down Parler for, get this: being a “nefarious” operation originating out of Mother Russia.
Since the Russian collusion conspiracy theory fell flat, the left is now claiming that Parler and probably all other platforms like it are a product of Russian interference in the national political conversation.
Russia was unable to stop Joe Biden from “winning,” in other words, so now it is resorting to giving conservatives a voice on alternative social media platforms like Parler, which one self-important leftist whom we will not bother to name says has a “bizarre, anti-social mission.”
“Twitter is banning conservatives left and right and forcing them off the platform but it’s Parler that has the anti-social mission?” Davis asks. “The childishness of the left is becoming exhausting. It truly is.”
